Khosar Gang Peak(6000m) is located on the left bank of the Braldo River in the Sildi/Kashmal Village of Shigar Valley, approximately 45 kilometers from Skardu City. In the Balti language, "Khosar Gang" translates to "Pumpkin Glacier," and it holds significant local myths and supernatural associations. This peak is relatively less challenging for climbers, with icy terrain and minimal rocky sections on the way to the summit, making it suitable for both intermediate and beginner climbers. It also serves as an ideal acclimatization peak for professional climbers and an excellent introduction to high-altitude mountaineering.

Khosar Gang Peak is a preferred training ground for climbing enthusiasts worldwide, including many local climbers who begin their climbing careers here. It's an ideal starting point for those aspiring to climb 7,000-meter and 8,000-meter peaks, providing essential technical knowledge and acclimatization before tackling higher altitudes. Unlike many other peaks in the Karakoram range, Khosar Gang Base Camp is easily accessible, requiring just a 4 to 5-hour trek from Sildi Village.

An expedition to Khosar Gang offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Karakoram mountains and the Shigar Valley from the summit. You can witness peaks like Spantik 7027m, Nanga Parbat 8000m, and numerous others above 5,000 meters.

Upon reaching the base camp, participants will go through an acclimatization process and organize their climbing equipment. The route for the Khosar Gang Peak Expedition resembles a steep hike until Camp II, with a steeper section of 80-120 meters of rope fixing just before the summit. There are crevasses between Camp II and the summit, which can be safely navigated using ropes and local guides' knowledge. The elevations of Camp I, II, and the summit are 4,800 meters, 5,200 meters, and 6,050 meters, respectively. Participants will have six days for the climb. Following the ascent, they will retrace their route back to Skardu via jeeps, then fly to Islamabad for a celebratory dinner after the successful expedition. If time permits, participants can also explore Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The journey concludes with participants being dropped off at Islamabad International Airport for their return flights to their home countries.

For international clients, a comprehensive expedition package is offered, encompassing a wide range of services. This package covers all aspects of your expedition, including lodging and meals provided on a full board basis. Pakistani clients are offered full-board services, including transportation, accommodation, meals, expert guidance, and essential equipment from Skardu to Skardu for their expedition. Details Itinerary

The details Itinerary made on base of our experts experience or given below.

Day 1 - Arrival in Islamabad:

Our guide will be easy to find at Islamabad International Airport. They'll hold a card with our company logo and your name on them. When you arrive, our staff will be at the international arrivals gate to greet you, unless you have a connecting flight within Pakistan. They'll take you to our partner hotel. Let us know beforehand if you don't need airport pick-up.

If you arrive in the morning between 9 am to 12 pm, after lunch and some rest at the hotel, our guide will gather everyone at 6 pm for a briefing and to handle any remaining payments at our office. We'll also have dinner together. If you arrive later, we'll do the briefing and payments in Skardu.

Day 2 - Flight to Skardu / Karakoram:

A breathtaking flight takes participants to Skardu in the heart of the Karakoram mountain range. As they soar over magnificent landscapes, the anticipation for the upcoming expedition builds.

Day 3 - Preparation in Skardu:

After breakfast, everyone will hike up to Kharpocho fort in Skardu, situated on a mountain at an altitude of 2,498 meters. The fort offers a breathtaking view of both the Indus River and Skardu town. Participants can also choose to visit Sadpara Lake or spend time shopping in Skardu Bazaar.

While sightseeing, our team will manage the necessary government paperwork needed in Skardu, which might take up to two days. We've allocated extra days at the end of the trek just in case there are any delays.

Day 4 - Drive to Sildi and Trek to Khosar Base Camp:

Today, we'll depart from Skardu Town to Sildi, which is about a two-hour drive away. Our journey will take us to the final jeep-accessible point, from where our team will begin hiking to reach the base camp. Along the way, we'll have the chance to meet the capable porters who will play a crucial role in supporting us throughout this expedition.

We'll be staying in twin-sharing dome tents for accommodation. Meals will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snacks like dry fruits and chocolate for the trek. Before dinner, we'll have appetizers such as soup or fried snacks, and after dinner, there'll be desserts or fruits available.

Day 5 - Trek to Khosar Gang Camp 2:

Participants continue their ascent, pushing deeper into the rugged terrain. This leg of the journey brings them to Khosar Gang Camp 2, where they'll rest and prepare for the more challenging days of climbing that await. The landscapes become increasingly dramatic and serve as a testament to the remarkable journey ahead.

Days 6-9 - Climbing Days:

These are the most challenging and exhilarating days of the expedition. Participants engage in the demanding ascent of Khosar Gang Peak. The terrain becomes progressively steeper, and climbers overcome technical challenges, including the need to fix ropes over a small but steep section near the summit. They also navigate crevasses with the guidance of local experts. These days are marked by intense physical and mental exertion as climbers ascend to Camp II at 5,200 meters and ultimately reach the summit at 6,050 meters. It's a triumph of both endurance and determination as participants bask in the glory of their achievement against the backdrop of stunning panoramic views.

Day 9 - Hike & Drive Back to Skardu:

Following their successful summit, participants descend from the mountain and hike back to the base camp. Afterward, they embark on a drive back to Skardu, providing a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recover, and savor the sense of accomplishment.

Day 10 - Return to Chilas:

The journey continues as participants leave Skardu and head to Chilas, offering a change of scenery from the high-altitude mountainous terrain to more diverse landscapes as they journey through the region.

Day 11 - Drive to Islamabad:

Participants undertake a drive back to Islamabad, transitioning from the remote and rugged landscapes to the more urban surroundings of the capital city. This day allows for reflection on the adventure and the opportunity to unwind before heading home.

Day 12 - Departure to Home Country:

The expedition reaches its conclusion as participants depart from Islamabad for their respective home countries. With memories of their Khosar Gang adventure, they carry the pride of their accomplishments and the stunning experiences of the Karakoram mountains back to their homes.
