Thallay La Trek

The Thalle La Trek in Pakistan takes you through a mountain pass at 4,572 meters above sea level, connecting the Shigar and Khaplu valleys. It's a relatively simple 11-13 day trek that offers exciting experiences. You can cross Thalle La from either the Shigar or Khaplu valleys.

This adventure takes you to a region with stunning mountain views, vibrant cities, colorful markets, and warm hospitality. Our team has been organizing trips here for over 40 years, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. On this private tour, you'll explore the mountainous northeast region of Pakistan known as Baltistan. You'll trek for four days, surrounded by breathtaking Karakoram Mountain scenery, and stay in two fabulous hotels, Shigar Fort and Khaplu Palace.

Our journey begins in Islamabad, the green capital city. We'll meet you at the airport, provide a briefing on the trek, and spend the night in Islamabad. The next day, we'll take a scenic flight to Skardu, where you can see the majestic Himalayan and Karakoram mountains, including K2, Broad Peak, and Nanga Parbat if the weather is clear. We'll stay in Skardu, the capital of ancient Baltistan, and explore Sadpara Lake, Kharpocho Fort, and the local market.

Following the Indus and Shyok rivers, we'll reach Khaplu, the district capital of Khaplu Valley. Here, you'll stay in the historic Khaplu Fort and explore the local market and Chaqchan Mosque. Then, we'll drive to Thalle Village to start the trek, walking through beautiful landscapes until we reach Shigar, the district capital of Shigar Valley. In Shigar, you'll stay in the historic Shigar Fort, which has been transformed into a charming 4-star hotel.
